A Pandemic of Hate

As the hysteria of the spreading Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, gains global momentum, I could not help but see distinct parallels between that physical disease and the spiritual animus that is wreaking havoc on the planet. What came first, the negative energy or this new strain of virus? The chicken or the egg?

Because I’m a firm believer in the profound power of energy, it seems more likely than not that we humans have sent out such an inordinate amount of ill-feelings that the universe has responded in kind. Life is an echo…what you send out comes back…what you sow you reap…what you see in others exists in you.

Of course, there will never be any empirical evidence to support my theory, but my intuitive instincts resonate with this truth. Take our Commander in Chief. A vast community of psychiatrists agree that he is, without a doubt, a sociopathic narcissist.  Albeit a functioning one out in the world, where he can do the most harm. But while he cannot claim total responsibility for the lack of dignity and compassion in the current world, he has normalized it to such an extent that his rude, crude and despicable behavior has become an acceptable standard of conduct worldwide. And worst of all, a terrible example for our children.

Just as the scientists are frantically searching for the root cause of the virus, the ground zero if you will, we need to dig deep down through a myriad of emotional layers to find the root cause of hatred and vilification of others.

For me, mental illness seems to be a common denominator when examining the generation and cultivation of hate. The behavior of people with mental health issues not only affects their immediate family but also radiates out into the community. Especially when they are heavily medicated but continue to circulate outside their immediate domiciles. How the community deals with that behavior, including vicious lies, distortions, and attacks on others, determines how widespread the damage to others will be.

Take Trump. There I said his name. He attacks anyone and/or thing that does not support him one thousand percent. Viciously, without remorse. Lies serve as well or better than truth. And he gets away with it because he has bullied or rewarded enough people to keep his schtick going for the short term.

So down on the streets where we all live, the same type of behavior is used to bolster the insecurities and jealousies of the medicated, unbalanced crazies who desperately need to take center stage. So back in the hood, when a new family moves in and the narcissistic, schizophrenic, and/or passive-aggressive bully in the hood comes to greet them, he leads with, “Hey, have you met your awful neighbors yet? Come on over and I’ll fill you in.” He has laid the groundwork to attack innocents in a battle to establish his moral superiority.

So, just as WHO has advised us to wash our hands obsessively and to keep our distance from, well, everyone, the same advice can be applied to help avoid the effects of the spiritual animus swirling around.

Release, release, release…and attract the energy you want in your life…it will come.

Namaste. 🧡
