My Provence alley is done! I just varnished what is now one of my favorite paintings. It evokes the beauty and unadulterated joy I feel when I am in this part of the world. I look forward to being there again SOON! And it will be soon. Sooner than later. We are making a dramatic shift in our lives…and are beyond grateful for the opportunity. In this day and age, so many of our compatriots have suffered terribly, being forced to downsize their lifestyles and retirement dreams. Encore, j’ai beaucoup, beaucoup de reconnaissance por tout en ma vie…
Embarking on our happily ever after adventure is now officially a reality. It has been a long and arduous path to get here, but hey, we’re here! For awhile, I was worried about leaving our medical security blanket, also known as the Mayo. But, no more. I have great faith and optimism for our future health and well being, despite our respective medical histories. We are smarter, better informed, and making better decisions about our diet, exercise and peace of mind on a daily basis. We have, quite literally, taken back our power. On all levels.
i can assure you that I will not miss the non-stop assault of all of the angry political messaging, nor the constant deluge of the big pharma mass marketing campaigns. It’s amazing to me that our media is filled with drug ads, followed by class action lawsuit opportunities against the (legal) drug manufacturers, followed by the vicious and vulgar presidential propaganda. Brutal bantering, salacious diatribes, unimaginabley racist and miscogynistic vulgarities…I know I’m old school and was raised in a refined (repressed?), cultured (classist?) ’50’s environment, but what our culture is devolving into is horrifying! By any standards. Good riddance!
So, I am the proof in the pudding, the living verification that “this too shall “pass” to all who face unfathomable diagnoses…there is light, and love, at the end of every tunnel. Just be patient and believe…
