Klimnt, Skinny Dipping and Vortexes

I’ve pretty much got my summer lined out now.  I’ve been working on (emphasis on not done yet!) my rendition of Woman With Fan by Klimnt, with whom I fell in love after I saw the most amazing exhibit of his work at Les Carrieres et Lumieres in Provence…suffice it to say that this abandoned mine which now exhibits a video show of some the most amazing masters projected onto three story high walls, ceilings and floors, choreographed to captivating classical music, is a once in a lifetime experience (which I had thanks to the incredible talents of Laurence of Provence Exclusive – hugs to you!).

So, I am mesmerized by Klimnt’s mastery of color, especially of his female figures and their luminous, almost etheric skin tones. I have learned so much, and with Mark Christopher’s brilliant mastery of oils and color mixing, I think that my next oeurvre will be an original…subject to be determined (with many potentials vying for my attention!)

On a more frivolous note, I have rediscovered the long lost “sport” of skinny dipping, thanks to my fish of a husband, who jumps in the pool (yes, naked!) at least once a day. I need to wait until the sun has gone down and the bees have flown home to their hive. You see, we actually share our invisible edge pool with a for-the-most-part friendly swarm of bees. Hundreds, if not thousands of them cling to the walls of the pool and drink…from sun up to sun down. After much research, we tried spraying some eucalyptus oil on the walls where they sip the agua to encourage them to find another source of water less stinky (our neighbors, perhaps?), but they seem to like it at our house. And since they are far more important to the survival of the planet than our daily dip will ever be, the pool is theirs till dark.

And finally, dare I even say it, yes, I must…I am going to start writing again! There it is, out in the universe and, as we know, energy flows where the mind goes…I’m going to commune with the vortexes of Sedona for the next several weeks, seeking inspiration and power surging from the depths of Mother Earth to continue on this creative path that I was meant to take. Writing and painting, painting and writing. Feels great to include words back into the equation.
