In an effort to practice what I preach, I have gotten back on the provervbial horse with meditation, writing (well, at least journaling), exercise (well, at least thinking about it while I heal), and yes, yea, painting! I did experience a momentary setback, especially in the exercise and humility departments, when I hurled myself down onto the ground in a spectacular face plant recently, resulting in some visually stunning bruising, especially to my ego. In the “count your blessings” department, I am extremely grateful to be otherwise intact and ready to get on with the business of following my bliss. I have been reminded to be aware and cognizant at all times of the power of the Wizard…and to remember to be kind to myself as well as to others.
I’m excited to share that I have just completed my very first oil painting, which is an “interpretation” of one of my favorite Monet’s. My teacher, Mark Christopher (markchristopherart.com), is a phenomenal artist in his own right, and a gentle, sweet soul who inspires and challenges with extraordinary results. Thanks to his color theory class, I was introduced to the medium of oil for the first time, and was completely seduced by its oozie, sensuous texture and possibilities. So voila, I am posting my first oil attempt, and am quite excited to continue down this unctuous, silky, sinfully delightful path.
Love ‘n light…
