Best Mammo Ever

In August, 2012 I went for my twenty-second annual mammogram in as many years. No big deal, a little discomfort, a bit of squishing and you’re done.  Ho Hum.  Until I heard those fateful words, “We found something.”

I was one of the lucky ones to have found the cancer in its very early stages. I was not so lucky in the type of cancer they found, but lucky nonetheless in the greater scheme of things.  One year and an agressive regimen of surgery, chemo, radiation and, of course, those beloved hormone blockers later, I am here to celebrate.  My twenty-third mammogram just came in with those much anticipated words, “It’s NORMAL.”  I will never, ever take those words for granted again.  I urge all of you to be diligent in your annual exams…it’s the best chance for survival we have.  Here’s to all survivors everywhere.  Blessings and love…
