St. Martin was truly A-MAY-ZING. The weather was spectacular (in hurricane season, no less), the water was an unearthly turquiose blue, the people were enchantingly embracing (yes, this was on the French side of the isle!), and the food. OMG. Words cannot capture the culinary bliss we all experienced, from chocolate croissants and coffee in the morning to foie gras, escargot, fresh fish carpaccio and frog legs! Ooooh La La! All accompanied with affordable, fabulous French wines. One of our favorite meals was a picnic on a local beach with French bread, an assortment of delectable French cheeses, fruit and a bottle of Pinot Noir. Heaven!
While I’m not brave enough to publish pictures of me sans wig on the beach, I did go wigless for the entire vacay. I tried to smuggle a wig into my bag before leaving, but H caught me in the act and took away my little safety net of hairy security. It felt great to let my head be free of itchy and hot encumbrances, but my hair growth is still incredibly wonky and a bit too sparse for my tastes. Loved time with Annie and David, and we were all happy to do a whole lot of nuthin’ compared to other trips. Except for eating. We did a whole lot of that!
So, back to reality. Our CO house is under contract, so big changes are looming on the very near horizon. Much to do, so little time. But my priority must be writing, so off I go…
