About

Following her passion for creative storytelling, she quickly transitioned to writing scripts and producing television shows for a decade. Ready for a break, she took a year off to live and work as a journalist on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, an experience that profoundly enriched her life in the most spiritual of ways.

Returning to the States, she spent a year in New York City, where she worked on George Soros’ Millennium Celebration, before moving back to Colorado, where she managed the Denver Press Club. Her life changed forever when she met and married Karl, joining forces with him to run his national live-event production company. After many years, tired of the fast pace on their fast track, they retired to the lush jungles of Costa Rica to live the Pura Vida with their four rescue babies.

Social justice and supporting the disenfranchised have always been central to her life’s work. Her passion for children led her to serve as the Executive Director for two homeless shelters for families—one in East LA and another in Colorado—over the years. She consistently keeps a close eye on issues such as women’s rights, racial discrimination, child abuse, global hunger, animal rights, and the climate crisis. When she can’t be on the front lines, she uses the power of the pen to bring positive attention to these causes. Pura Vida
